He was predeceased by: his parents, John Reb Marks and Mary Dallie Usrey Marks; his son Scottie Marks; and his siblings, Louise Rivers, Mary Alice Gathings, Marguerite Bunn, Reid Marks, Ann Hough and Jeanne Snuggs.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Pegram Marks; his children, Christie Souther (Doug) of Albemarle and Kyle Marks (Laura Beth) of Albemarle; his daughter-in-law Tammy Marks of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, T. J. Melton, Branden Melton, Addison Marks and Stella Marks; his great grandchildren, Justin Melton and Edward Melton; his sisters, Sue Henry of Wadesboro and Marie Roberson (Ed) of Memphis, TN; and his sister-in-law Linda Ratliff of Lilesville. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
