He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Freeman and Jeannie Edna Blake Freeman; his sons, Richard Freeman and Donald Scott Freeman; his grandchildren, Anna Ford and Blake Freeman; and his siblings, Howard Freeman, Elgie Dennis, Ruth Garrison, James "Jim" Freeman, Ed Freeman, Alta Jackson, Clyde Freeman and Carlton Freeman.
He is survived by: his children, Dare Ford (Keith) of Hendersonville, Mike "Spider" Freeman (Sally) of Lilesville and Rebecca Freeman of Lumberton; his daughters-in-law, Cora Freeman of Orinda, CA and Nancy Freeman of Lilesville; and his grandchildren, Victoria Capell (Brian), Scarlett Freeman (Vina Ha), Elizabeth Ferguson (Michael), Andrew Ford (Porshe), Michael Craven (Jennifer), Angela Schulz (Jonathan), Scottia Kelly (Mike) and Ray Quick. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
He was a faithful and long-time member of Olivet United Methodist Church, where he attended faithfully until the COVID pandemic, he was 98 at the time.
