He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter B. Phillips and Bernice Leak Phillips; his siblings, John Phillips and Mary Boyd; and his grandson Logan Mitchell.
He is survived by: his sons, Keenan Phillips of Wadesboro, NC and Randy Gaddy (Frances) of Wadesboro, NC; his siblings, Shirley Phillips of Charlotte, NC, Joseph Phillips of Winona, MS and Walter B. Phillips Jr. of Wingate, NC; and his aunts, Edna Gatewood of Wadesboro, NC, Virginia Smith of Wadesboro, NC and Viola Phillips-Wheeler of Charlotte, NC.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
