She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Stocks and Olive Sutton Stocks; and her brother Lamon Stocks. She is survived by: her husband Wade Sumerlin; her children, Wayland H. Sumerlin, Jr. (Betsy) of Grifton and Denise Edwards of Forest City; her grandchildren, Nicole Sumerlin, Spencer Sumerlin and Gabriel Edwards; and her siblings, Claude Stocks and Pat Higson of Greenville.
