He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Mary McLucas of Eastover, Sandra Johnson (Thomas) of Eastover, James McLucas (Joann) of Hope Mills, Doris Baggett of Fayetteville, Glen McLucas (Inita) of Fayetteville, Wayne McLucas (Gloria) of Fayetteville, Patricia Caldwell (John) of Fayetteville, Vivian Myers (Tommy) and Sharon Wheeler (Elliott) of Charlotte; and his sisters, Helen Brown (Neil) of Grays Creek and Rose Williams (Edward) of Sampson County. He was also cherished by 7 step children, thirty-six grandchildren, eighty-three great grandchildren and thirty-four great great grandchildren.
