She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Blackmon and Cora Tew Blackmon; her former husband William Spencer Peters; her husband Edgar B. Strickland; her sons, Randall Peters and Jeffrey Richard Strickland; and her siblings, Maxine Naylor (Bruce), Jean W. Whittenton (Henry), James R. Blackmon and Waylon Odell Blackmon.

She is survived by: her sons, William Franklin Peters (Martha) and Robert Larry Peters (Ellen); her grandchildren, Darrell Peters, Kim Faircloth, Robert Stewart and Hayley Warren; her great grandchildren, Megan Hope (Dylan), Trace Faircloth, Seth Faircloth, Alex Stewart, Makayla Stewart, Noah Warren and Claire Warren; and her great great grandchild Peyton Hope. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Center Baptist Church, 4210 Center Church Rd., Wade, NC 28395.
