It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willis James Hess of Vilas, North Carolina, who passed away on January 16, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Isaac and Elsie Howington Hess; and his siblings, Frances Wilcox, Willa Jean, Wesley, John and Donald Hess.
He is survived by: his siblings, Shelba Hicks of Mountain City, TN, Ellen Dancy (Jack) of Vilas, Mary Thompson of Avondale, PA and Millard Hess of Laurel Bloomery, TN; his niece Wilma Hicks (Jack Herten); and also Caroline Shockley.
