He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Coy Yates, Sr. and Marietta McCauley Yates; and his brother Donald Yates, Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Tina Yates Maynard (B. J.) of Vilas, Randy Carl Yates, Jr. of Vilas and Conley Elwood Yates of Boone; his grandchildren, Chloe, Lucas, Tristan, Sierra, Terri, Travis and Kelsey; his siblings, Joan Huffman (Tony) of Mountain City, TN, Danny Yates (Sherry) of Sugar Grove and Joseph Yates Jr. of Vilas; and his sister-in-law Karen Yates of Hampton, TN.. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In memory of Randy and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Timbered Ridge Baptist Church, in care of Dana Millsaps, 304 Smith Henson Road, Sugar Grove, NC 28679.
