He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Braswell and Dorothy Phillips Braswell; and his brothers, Dean, Robert, Bobby and Larry Braswell.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Roark Braswell; his children, Paul Lee Braswell (Linda), Michael Braswell, William "Dennis" Braswell (Lisa) and Mary Ruth Ward (Paul); his grandchildren, Danielle Braswell, Amanda Braswell, James Braswell, Ray Braswell, Vanessa Braswell, Maci Ruth Guy, Ashlyn Braswell and Kailyn Braswell; his brothers, Gerald Braswell of Georgia and Jackie Braswell of Tennesse; and his sisters-in-law, Bernice Braswell and Imogene Braswell. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
