It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Johnson Baird of Vilas, North Carolina, who passed away on December 29, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah Johnson and Ola Miller Johnson; her husband Howard H. Baird; her sons, Len Baird, Randy Baird and Eddie Baird; her siblings, Virginia Ward and Ray Johnson; and her son-in-law Don Richardson.
She is survived by: her children, Becky Richardson of Vilas, Kevin Baird of Vilas and Michael Baird of Vilas; and her brothers, John Johnson of Meat Camp, Leroy Johnson (Bev) of Meat Camp and Bernard Johnson (Cara) of Meat Camp. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
