He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Combs and Viola Combs; his daughter Anita Kay Combs; and his siblings, Blanche Ivy, Sarah Patrick, Marie Henson, Patsy Lou Combs and Tommy Combs.
He is survived by: his wife Lena Wilson Combs; his children, Angela Jackson (Jimmy) of Greensboro, NC, Tena Gulliver (Bill) of Boone and Lewis Randall Combs (Valerie) of Vilas, NC; his grandchildren, Matthew Jackson, Katie Jackson, Matthew Boyer, Hailey Combs, Timothy Combs, Kyle Matheson, Kayleigh Matheson, Seanna Miller and Hope Miller; and his siblings, Barbara McGuire, Roberta Blair (A. B. Blair), Nora Combs, Louise Barrett and Steve Combs (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
