He was predeceased by: his grandmother Catherine Vitoria Taylor. He is survived by: his parents, Spencer Player and Tonnie Taylor Nester Matthew (Jimmy); his son Matthew William Player Jr.; his brothers, John Spencer Player Jr. and Josh Lewis Player; his grandparents, Gloria Player and Michael P. Taylor; and his uncle Jamie Chipps. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, one nephew, and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Boles Funeral Home Chapel (425 W Pennsylvania Ave, Southern Pines, NC 28387).
