He was predeceased by: his parents, James Laughlin and Ruth Stewart Johnson; his daughter Ann Dallas; and his sister Bonnie Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Wilma Johnson; his daughter Adele Bradford (Jim) of Whispering Pines; his siblings, Frances Baker of Sanford, Lena Mae Collins (Gene) of Vass and Jimmy Johnson (Irene) of Cameron; his grandchildren, Janey Tillman, Rachael Robertson, Shirley Johnson, Brad, Will, Rachel Bradford, Eric West (Olivia), Michelle West (Tim) and William Collins (Sue); and his great grandchildren, Brook Lynn Robertson, Ella Dallas, Peyton Robertson and Ethan Bradford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of JD Johnson to Cypress Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
