He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Spikes and Marie Edwards Spikes; and his siblings, Donnie, Bobby Spikes and Shirley Bates.

He is survived by: his wife Ardathy "Date" Spikes; his children, Wallace "Pete" Spikes, Jr. (Betty) of Grifton, Jackie Spikes of Ayden and Rebecca "Becky" Hughes of Grifton; and his granddaughter Brandi Rose Farlow (Toby Michael) of Garner, NC..
