He was predeceased by: his parents, Bettie Jane Cromer and Joseph Lee Boyd; and his siblings, Kathleen, Virginia, Margaret, Corine, James, Eugene, Joe and Richard.
He is survived by: his fiancée Eleanor Stoneham of Ayden; and his sister Juanita Carter of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Red Oak Christian Church (1827 Greenville Blvd SW, Greenville, NC 27834). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
