It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Hubert Cox Jr. of Vanceboro, North Carolina, born in Beaufort, North Carolina, who passed away on February 25, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel H. Cox, Sr. and Retha Evans Cox; and his former wife Queenie Faye Cox. He is survived by: his wife Loretta Sumerlin Arnold; his children, Beverly R. Cox, Lisa Cox Wiggs and Samuel Keith Cox (Jean) of Greenville; his grandsons, Brandon Keith Cox (Macey) and Collin Patrick Wiggs; his great grandchild Harper Reide Cox; his stepchildren, Michael Eakes (Lisa) and Regina Stancil (Jeff); his stepgrandchildren, Amber Stancil, Kasidy Stancil, Bailey Eakes (Morgan), Courtney E. Everette (Travis), Zachary Eakes (Amy) and Scott Eakes; his great grandchildren, Easton Everette, Brynn and Talan Eakes; and his brother Garland Cox.
