He is survived by: his grandchildren, Lucas Jason, Nathan Wilson, Jacob Alan, Braeden James, Cadence Elizabeth, Nelson Emmett and Dawson Frederick; his daughters, Rachel Segar (Nelson Raney) of Winterville, NC, Hannah Deis (Jason Deis) of Greenville, NC and Leah Segar of New Bern, NC; and his siblings, Dawson Edward Segar Jr. (Mary Lou) of Preston, MD, Roger Segar (Carole) of Cambridge, MD and Anne Harvey of Easton, MD. He is also survived by numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
