With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Wayne Strickland of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on August 11, 2023 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Betsy Evans; and his grandmother Alma Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Linda "Jean" Strickland; his children, Michael Strickland (Rhonda), Kim Strickland (Greg Wright) and Angie Peaden (Alan); his grandchildren, Josh Strickland, Ella Strickland, Brittany Goff, Mark Peaden, Matthew Peaden, Hayley Peaden, Breanna Hathaway and C. J. Hathaway; his great grandchildren, Addison Stallings, Harper Goff, Michael Peaden and Luke Peaden; and his siblings, Lewis Strickland (Dorothy), Linda Buck, Pat Brooks (Tommy) and Susie Manning (Ramos).
