Jenkins (Carla) of Whitestown, Ind.; his daughters, Chynetta Carter (Michael) of Connecticut and Barbara Escobar (Rafael) of Connecticut; and his siblings, Jerry Sumner of New Bern, N. C., Albert Edwards of New Bern, N. C., Robert Simmons of New Bern, N. C., Stephanie Edwards of Greenville, N. C., Diane Brown of Greenville, N. C. and Annie Tye of New Bern, N. C.. He was also cherished by four grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
