She was predeceased by: her parents, Art Tatum and Martha Tatum; her husband Thomas D. Burney; and her brother Perry Burrows. She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Vanover (John) of Dupo, Mary Ellen Burney, Jason Wingate and Thomas D. Burney, II; her grandchildren, Beau Vanover, Sarah Vanover, Jacob Jones, Jordan Jones, Amber Tuggle and Alston Burney; her pet Pistol; her siblings, Bart Burrows and Edie Tatum; and her siblings-in-law, Billy Burney and Jona Burrows. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at 5413 Weyerhaeuser Rd, Ayden, NC 28513. A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Elm Grove Free Will Baptist Church (423 Mill Ave, Vanceboro, NC 28586).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elm Grove Free Will Baptist.
