He was predeceased by: his parents, David Cox and Esther Cox; and his brothers, Horace Cox, Gene Cox and Bill Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Sue S. Cox; his children, Peggy C. Dunn (Ronald), Cindy C. Whitney (Charlie Whitney) of Grifton and Keith M. Cox of Vanceboro; his grandchild Bailey Dunn Phillips (Sarah) of Ft; his sister Evelyn Cox of Cove City; and also, Margie Russell, Cecil Russell and Betty Jean Rhem.
