He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Robert Boyd and Sophie Ruth Hudson; his wife Doris Tetterton Boyd; his son Melvin Hudson Boyd, Jr.; his grandsons, Hudson Colin Boyd and Logan Christopher Lancaster; his sister Doris Boyd Roach; and his niece Sharon Haddock Cannon.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Boyd Lancaster (Don) and Danny Robert Boyd (Karen); his grandchildren, Ramsey Paige Lancaster, Callie Boyd Bullock (Zach) and Daniel Presley Boyd; his daughter-in-law Connie Garris Sutton (Gordon); his sister-in-law Edna Harmon Goins (David); and his great grandchildren, Haven Leal Bullock, Tate Alexandra Bullock and Hudson Davis Boyd.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Greenville Church of God (3105 S Memorial Dr, Greenville, NC 27834). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. An entombment will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at the Pinewood Memorial Park (4150 E 10th St, Greenville, NC 27858).
