Though Lonnie Bruce may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Lonnie Bruce touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd McLawhorn and Viola McLawhorn; his son Bruce McLawhorn, Jr.; and his sister Joyce Ann Jones. He is survived by: his wife Dixie Fornes McLawhorn; and his grandson Adam Bruce McLawhorn (Jenna). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Second Baptist Church (2516 W 5th St, Washington, NC 27889). A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
