He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Wilson Smith; his parents, William "Silas" Smith and Merle Smith; his great grandchild Allie Sutton; and his siblings, Willie Smith, Ray Smith, Ruel Smith, Shelby Smith, Lucille Smith and Ruth Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Anderson of Vanceboro, Jean Dixon (Ray) of Grantsboro, Earline Smith of Vanceboro, Alton Wilson (Lynn) of Vanceboro and Raymond "PeeWee" Wilson (Cheryl) of Vanceboro; and his brothers, LeeRoy Smith, Edward "Ed" Smith, Kenneth Smith and Dalton Smith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 27 great-children; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
