He was predeceased by: his wife Suzanne Labarth Sumrell; and his siblings, Thomas Sumrell and Betty Jo Sumrell. He is survived by: his daughters, Erica Grimsley (Jerry) of Ayden and Meredith Sumrell of Greenville; his grandchildren, Holly Grimsley and Carter Grimsley; his sister-in-law Denise Barth (Phil); and his friend Bette Himes of Pikeville.
