Kenneth Charles Gillespie Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Charles Gillespie of Vanceboro, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 9, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Paul and Margaret Louise Lay Gillespie; and his son Todd. He is survived by: his daughter Julianna Louise (Jay); his wife Geraldine O'Shea; his sons, Bradley and Matthew (Julie); his grandchildren, Ian, Rachel, Paul, Anna, Megan, Jake and Jordan; and his cousins, Edward (Martha), Connie (Kent), Gina (Jack), Nicky (Jeremy) and Ken.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (2700 E 4th St, Greenville, NC 27858).
In lieu of flowers, Ken asked that contributions be made to the Salvation Army (in his words, The Army), stating: "They do not pay extravagant salaries to their staff.".
