He was predeceased by: his father Latham Lytell "Gabby" Gaskins, Sr.; his sister Brenda Jones; and his son Latham Lytell Gaskins, III. He is survived by: his wife Lorie Gaskins; his mother Earline Gaskins; his daughters, Melody Powers, Anna Hobbes and Emilie Oldham; his granddaughters, Sydni Powers and Gianna Norcia; and his great grandchild Reegan Jones.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Kidney Foundation.
