He was predeceased by: his parents, Thad Bejamin Gaskins and Arlie Jones Gaskins; his brother Garland Gaskins; and his granddaughter Regina Furman. He is survived by: his wife Betsy Gaskins; his children, Kathy Sullivan (Ward) of Chocowinity, NC, Kay Edwards (Jerry) of Vanceboro, NC and Kenny Gaskins (Crystal) of Chocowinity, NC; and his siblings, Zelma Clark of Chocowinity, NC, Edna Galloway of Vanceboro, NC and Bud Gaskins (Carolyn) of Blackjack, NC. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
