It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Baker Evans of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on December 31, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob L. Baker and Alice T. Baker of Duplin County; her husband Stacy J. Evans; her son Phillip Evans of Mt. Olive; and her siblings, Norwood Baker, Earl Baker, Frank Baker, Austin Baker and Ester B. Finch.
She is survived by: her children, Althea McNairy (Syd) of Winterville, Steve Evans of Greenville and Keith Evans (Dorothy) of Emerald Isle; her grandson Eric Nolan-Weathington (Donna) of Mebane; and her great grandchildren, Iain Nolen-Weathington of Mebane, Lawyn Williamson of Wilmington, Landon Martin of Mt. Olive and Kimber Ann Martin of Mt. Olive.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM at the Memorial Baptist Church (1510 Greenville Blvd SE, Greenville, NC 27858). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
