He is survived by: his wife Rhiannon S. McEwen; his children, Donald "DJ" Edward McEwen IV of Dunn, Megan B. McEwen of Kinston and Olivia G. McEwen of Stratford, CT; his granddaughter Lillith "Lilly" McEwen of Dunn; his stepchildren, Aslyn "Azzie" Simpson and Corbin Simpson; his mother Holly Lucas of New Bern; his siblings, Jenni Conner (Danny) of Kinston, Michelle S. Perez of Vanceboro and Allen R. Lavoie (Tanya) of Maysville; and his aunt Patricia M. Rhoten (Jim) of Springfield, OR.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
