He was predeceased by: his parent R. E. Powers; his former wife Bessie; and his siblings, David Powers, Ruis Cox, Eldridge Cox, Bernard Cox, David W. Cox, Jackie Powers, Robert Powers (Bubba), Margaret Cameron, Miriam Thomas and Cleonis Benton.
He is survived by: his wife Bunny Overton; his sons, Paul (Angie) and Jonathan (Leigh); his grandchildren, Jonathan, Erin and Cari Powers; his sister Faye Greco; and his sisters-in-law, Myrlee Powers, Millie Tripp and Dolly Hathaway.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home & Crematory - Greenville (2100 E 5th St, Greenville, NC 27858). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
