Charles R. Vandiford Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles R. Vandiford of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Perry and Elizabeth Vandiford; his wife Janie Clark Vandiford of Farmville; and his brothers, Melvin Vandiford and Carlton Vandiford.

He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Vandiford of Wilmington; his granddaughters, Hannah Consky (Alex) of Asheville and Maggie Thompson (Bryce) of Raleigh; his great grandchildren, Solomon Consky, Adira Consky and Margot Thompson; his siblings, Ruth Mercer of Walstonburg and Ray Vandiford (Betty) of Wilson; and his in-laws, Grace Tyson of Washington, NC, Edna Mewborn of LaGrange, Bertie Mangham of Augusta, GA and Shirley Steppe of Farmville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home & Crematory - Greenville (2100 E 5th St, Greenville, NC 27858). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
