We are sad to announce that on August 16, 2022, at the age of 76, Carolyn Griffin Mitchell of Vanceboro, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Hale and Anna Harrell Hale; the father of her children Edgar "Red" Griffin; and her siblings, Fred Hale, Allie Harrell and Linda Edmondson.
She is survived by: her husband Billy Gene Mitchell; her children, Angela G. Sugg (Billy) of Chocowinity, Eddie Griffin (Donna) of Robersonville, Lisa G. Timar (John) of Washington and Jesse Griffin (Kerri) of Grifton; her grandchildren, Leslie Sugg, Stephanie Moore (Justin), Allison Griffin, Justin Leggett (Amanda), Cody Timar (Logan), Caleb Griffin (Xochipilli) and Saragrace Griffin; her great grandchildren, Holden, Layla, Ivy, Karson Leggett, Gavin Paramore, Bloom and Isla Griffin; her siblings-in-law, Phylis Wilson of Vanceboro, Edna Hale of Hobgood and Clayton Edmondson (Faye) of Rocky Mount; her stepchildren, Jessi Mitchell (Ken) of Vanceboro and William Mitchell (Krista) of High Point; her stepgrandchildren, Bethany, Eliyah, Rachel, Cora, Liam Mitchell, Luke, Jacob, Caleb, Nathan Brooks and FaithHouse; and also, Mike and Mary Chatt.
