Smith; his children, Carla Ayers, Theresa Smith and Brian Oliver (Crystal) of Vanceboro; his stepchildren, Sherri Paul of Grantsboro and Keith Paul of Grantsboro; and his siblings, Ronald Smith (Pattie) of Cove City, Lois Fornes of Vanceboro and Betty Barr of Vanceboro. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
