He is survived by: his wife Linda Heath Elks; his children, Billy Elks, Jr. (Christy) of Washington, William Lester Elks of Washington, Brenda Thomas of Washington and James Elks of Ayden; his grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Adam "Blake" Thomas (Lauren), Cameron Thomas, Lindsay Elks, Charles "Chuck" Elks (Sara), Brandon Elks, Joshua Elks, Addison Elks and Arianna Beacham; and his sisters, Alice Hardee of Kinston and Mary Ann Pollard of Greenville. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
