She was predeceased by: her parents, George Gurganus and Ruth Gurganus; her husband Glenn Strickland; her son Phillip Glenn Strickland; and her brother Wallace Gurganus.
She is survived by: her daughter Victoria "Vickie" Mayo (J. A.) of Bell Arthur; her grandchildren, Sarah Strickland Wilkerson (Joseph Guy) of Wilmington and George Amos Strickland (Emily) of Bell Arthur; her great grandchildren, Max Allen Baker of Wilmington, Cora Anne Wilkerson of Wilmington, John Phillip Strickland of Bell Arthur, Magdalen Claire Strickland of Bell Arthur, William Zeb Strickland of Bell Arthur and Jacob David Strickland of Bell Arthur; her daughter-in-law Marie Gay Strickland of Winterville; and her caregivers, Deborah Green, Terry Good and Teresa Summerlin.
