We bid farewell to Vera Pounds Hunt (Vale, North Carolina), born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 9, 2025 at the age of 86. Vera Pounds touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Vera Pounds may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Vera Pounds touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Pounds and Mattie Bell Pounds (Clemons). She is survived by: her son Mark Hunt (Earlene); her granddaughter Malika Moore; her great grandchild Carter Moore; and her siblings, Margaret Pounds, William Pounds (Lena), Oscar Pounds, Ernest Pounds Jr. (Roxanne) and John T. Pounds. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church (5569 Indian Creek Primitive Church, Vale, NC 28168). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
