He is survived by: his children, Summers Dallas Sturgill Jr. (Gina) of Vale and Elizabeth Louise "Shug" Lowman (Phillip) of Vale; his siblings, Phillip "Dale" Sturgill of Denver, NC, Darrell D. Sturgill of South Carolina and Annette D. Sturgill Collier; his sister-in-law Marie "Aunt Rie" Sturgill of Rutherford College; and his grandchildren, Leslie Anne "Annie Roo" Lowman, Emily "Emmy Lou" Lowman Noble (Bobby), Brandy Miranda "Brandy Poo" Sturgill and Haley "Haley Girl" Sturgill Myers (Houston).
