She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah Edward Beal and Jane Shrum Beal; her husband Bobby "Bob" Harold Mitchem; and her siblings, Willie Beal, Milas Beal, Darrell Beal, Mattie Richards, Marie Wilkinson and Shirley Sigmon.
She is survived by: her sons, Carrol Mitchem (Robin) of Vale and Wayne Mitchem (Crystal) of Vale; her granddaughters, Regan Mitchem of Vale and Jordan Mitchem of Vale; and her sisters, Linda Chambers of Mooresville, Quita Harkey of Lincolnton, Betty Setzer of Lincolnton and Evie Lynch of Greensboro.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hebron United Methodist Church, 8121 South Hebron Church Rd, Vale, NC 28168.
