She is survived by: her parent Bessie Collins Carswell; her son Grover Eugene Hice (Kay) of Vale, NC; her grandchildren, Terrie Whisenant, Jerry Wayne Whisenant, Barry Whisenant, Rocky Epley (Dennis), Paula Epley (Roy), Billy Hice, Jr., Steve Hice (Mandy), Travis Leatherman (Deana) and Angela Rascoe (Evans); and her brother Paul Carswell. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
