It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gene Leatherman (Vale, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on June 20, 2019, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Judson Leatherman and Charlene Parker Leatherman; and his siblings, Judson, Loretta Hall, Wanda Lee Leatherman and Nadine Leatherman.
He is survived by: his significant other Sue Turpin; his sons, Gene Leatherman (Carol Anne) of Vale and Randy Leatherman (Brandi) of Vale; his stepchildren, Paula Yocun (Randy), Rodney Turpin (Lisa), Stephanie Turpin, Brian Turpin (Charity) and Crystal Bennett (Kent); his siblings, Eddie Leatherman (Kathy) of Freehold, NJ and Glinda Parker (Danny) of Vale; and his sister-in-law Jonsie Krauss. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
