It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Helton Mellon of Vale, North Carolina, who passed away on September 3, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Helton and Ollie Mae Price Helton; her husband Jerry Dean Mellon Sr.; her siblings, Getty Joe Helton, Billy Ray Helton, Wallace Helton and Carolyn Baker; her children, Vicki Mellon Moore (Kevin) of Vale, Sherri Mellon Frye Nail (Vance) of Vale and Jerry Mellon Jr. (Jeni) of Cherryville; and her siblings, Joyce Beard of Hickory and Bruce Helton (Alva) of North Wilkesboro.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Amanda Moore, Adam Moore, Brooke Herman (Kirk), Dylan Nail (Grace), Melissa Sheets (Billy), Zackary Mellon and Cheyanne Mellon; and her great grandchildren, Alex Herman and Carter Herman Numerous.
