He is survived by: his children, Chandra Hopkins Cook (Gradie C. Cook, Jr.), John Mitchell Hopkins and Blake Douglas Hopkins; his daughter-in-law Stella Hopkins; his grandchildren, Curtis, Brian, Jennifer, Lindsay, Julia and Seth; and his sister Linda Smith. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
