He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shuford Heavner and Dolly Essie Gantt Heavner; his granddaughter Jessica Davis; and his son-in-law Gerald Goins. He is survived by: his wife Revonda Benfield Heavner; his children, Penny Goins of Vale, Lori Whisnant (Bill) of Hickory and Nathan Lee Heavner (Denise) of Vale; his siblings, Brenda Gantt, Jackie Willis and Joe Heavner; his grandchildren, Rodney Davis, Ryan Heavner and Heidi Heavner; and his great grandchildren, Maliyah Lawing, Talan Lawing and Ariana Davis.
