He is survived by: his wife Shirley Lindsey Smawley; his sons, Kenny Johnson (Joy) of Morganton, Timothy Smawley (Victoria) of Dandridge, TN, Johnny Johnson of Morganton and Danny Smawley (Regina) of Scranton, PA; and his siblings, Wayne Smawley, Raye Womack (Bill) of Charlotte and Doris Causby of Glen Alpine. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
