He was predeceased by: his parents, Elgie Lee McGalliard, Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Harris McGalliard; and his sister Betty Griffin. He is survived by: his wife Effie Mae Franklin McGalliard; his stepchildren, Gary Curtis (Betty) and Dionne Curtis (Kathleen); his stepgrandchildren, Gary Scott Curtis, Greg Curtis, Kimberly Garrison and Allen Curtis; his brother Elgie McGalliard, Jr. (Rheba); his nephew Jeffrey McGalliard; and his niece Keely McGalliard. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
