It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Franklin Stokes of Valdese, North Carolina, who passed away on October 1, 2021, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Finley Franklin and Kathleen Yates Franklin. She is survived by: her husband Richard Stokes; her daughters, Jenny Corpening (Harry) of Valdese and Allison Mace (Jerry) of Valdese; her sisters, Davena Piercy of Drexel and Kathy Hoffman (John) of Valdese; and her grandchildren, Caleb Mace and Courtney Mace. She is also survived by numerous cousins and beloved nieces and nephews.
