It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melissa Anderson Piercy of Valdese, North Carolina, who passed away on March 27, 2021, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father William Edgar Anderson; her husband Billy Ray Piercy; and her stepfather Richard Whisnant. She is survived by: her mother Martha Faye Powell Whisnant; her son Michael Ray Piercy; her siblings, William Harvey Anderson (Violet), Sherry Teague (Eddie) and Doris Williams (Tim); her close friend Randall Tallent; her nieces and nephews, Jessica Teague, Kim Kincaid, Kelly Anderson, Jimmy Hendrickson, Keri Anderson and Cory Teague; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Hailey Kincaid, Megan Teague, Kaitlyn Kincaid, Willie Shepherd, Billy Bass, Matti Kincaid and Richie Teague.
