She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Ervin Ogle and Mary McGalliard Ogle; her husband James Marvin Hipps; her siblings, Wilburn Ogle, Burlin Ogle, Roy Ogle, Ray Ogle, JayVan Ogle, Allene Burns, Edith Ogle, Mary Lowman, Cleo Greene and Valeria Harmon; and her nephew J. D. Ogle.

She is survived by: her sons, Jimmy Lynn Hipps (Libby) of Icard and Johnny Alan Hipps (Cheryl) of Claremont. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Abee's Grove Baptist Church at 654 Abee's Grove Baptist Church Rd. Valdese, NC 28690.
