He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Whisnant and Susan Whisnant; his wife Virginia B. Whisnant; his siblings, Joseph Whisnant, Mable Whisnant and Connie Jean Whisnant; his grandson Jason Alan Laws; and his nephew Carl Whisnant.
He is survived by: his sons, Tim F. Whisnant (Christie Yelton) and Luther Y. Whisnant (Tonya); his niece Agnes Collins; and his nephew Barry A. Whisnant. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.
